Praga R1R delivers extreme road driving

Unveiled at the end of 2015, the Slovakian-built R1R supercar is the first road car built by Praga since 1947.  Production will be limited to just 68 units – one for each year since Praga built its last road car.

The R1R is the road legal version of the R1 race car.  It boasts truly impressive performance stats and retains the aerodynamic aspects of the track car, with a 2-litre, 16V, turbocharged Renault sport engine and a carbonfibre monocoque for extra downforce.  Power output is a hefty 390bhp with 391lb ft of torque, allowing the car to sprint from 0-60mph in less than 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 160mph.

The mid-mounted engine sits on a carbonfibre chassis, with inboard suspension featuring pushrod-operated Koni dampers.  The car is controlled via a paddle-operated Hewland box with a centrifugal clutch.  As standard, it’s fitted with a centrally-mounted single seat, but can be configured for a two-seater set -up.

The thrilling R1R is priced at £150,000 and is available now to buy.
