Rare Porsche 964 Carrera RS headed for Silverstone

The upcoming Silverstone Auctions’ Porsche Sale will feature this beauty, a 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera RS. The rare model is ultra-lightweight and packs a punch.

The 911 headed to auction is No.76 of only 290 N/GT Carrera RS models ever built. These versions were stripped back to make the car extremely lightweight and improve performance. The Recaro bucket seats are trimmed with Nomex instead of leather and the front carpets replaced with plywood.

The model has many similarities to the Cup racer, however is road-legal. It is fitted with a plumbed fire extinguisher, rollcage and a long-range fuel tank. The stunning RS NGT runs on an air cooled 6-cylinder 3.6-litre engine, producing 256bhp.

The car has had 5 previous owners and remains in good condition, with the original documents and service history included. The car was first sold in 1991 to Germany, where it changed hands 3 times before moving to Japan and finally back to the UK. It has 25,000 miles on the clock.

The car will go on sale on the 15th October at Silverstone Auctions’ Porsche sale. The estimated sale price is between £135,00-£155,00, however it could go for a lot more.
