The refreshed 2017 BMW 4 Series

BMW has revealed the facelifted 4 Series for 2017 and will make it public debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

The 4 Series line-up has been redesigned with styling tweaks, technological updates and engine updates. The line-up now consists of the updated range-topping M4, the 4 door Gran Coupe in Convertible and Coupe and the entry-level two door coupe and convertible.

The range receives new LED headlights at the front and rear with adaptive low and high beam functions. The front end has been reshaped, featuring a lower bumper and air ducts. The rear has also been given the same treatment.

The exterior is finished with 18 inch and 19inch alloys and there is a choice of two extra paint colours, Snapper Rocks Blue and Sunset Orange. There is a choice of a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic gearbox with a torque converter. Rear-wheel drive comes as standard although some models can be delivered with xDrive, dependant one the engine.

The interior also gets a fresh look for 2017, there is a new steering wheel design and an improved navigation system. The interior is finished with black gloss elements and electroplated chrome and aluminium trims and now available in a choice of dashboard finishes.

The 4 Series is available in a range of engines, there are two petrol drivetrains and a choice of 3 diesels.

The star of the series is the performance driven M4 variant. The new M4 is available as both a Coupe and Convertible and gets more bells and whistles than the rest of the range. The M4 still packs a punch, powered by a twin-turbo flat six 3.0-litre engine. The M4 produces 425bhp and has a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds. The car comes with the same DCT gearbox, however suspension and steering has been tweaked to give the car better handling. The M4 is available with BMW’s Competition Pack for those who want an extra boost and the Carbon Pack for extra styling.

The 4 Series will make its public debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show, deliveries are expected to start in April. Pricing for the entry-level starts at £32,525 and the M4 range-topper starts at £57,817.
