RM Sotheby showcase two icons in Monaco

RM Sotheby’s Monaco sale catalogue for 2016 is a star studded line-up of cars, including two iconic classics – a Porsche 959 and a 1974 Ferrari boxer.

The Monaco sale is famous for it’s rare and beautiful cars. This 1974 365 GT4 BB Ferrari Boxer is a prime example. The Ferrari is one of the earliest Boxers made and is one of only 387 ever produced. The Boxer was built and sold new in Paris in 1974. It has been kept in good condition with only 9,000km on the clock since 1974. This rare icon is estimated to sell for €380,000-€450,000.

One to watch at the auction is the classic 959 Porsche supercar. The car when new in 1988 was the definition of its supercar era, pushing Porsche’s performance boundaries. It was sold new in Germany where it remained until 2013, when bought by a collector in Monaco.  This beautiful ‘Komfort Stage II’ 959 Porsche has been upgraded by the Porsche Classic Centre in Stuttgart to an even higher level of specification. The car boasts 585bhp, with a rear-mounted 6 cylinder twin-turbo engine driving power to all four-wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. It is finished in Ultra Black with matching interior and has a low mileage of 9,500km. The Porsche 959 is expected to fetch between €900,000- €1,250,000.

RM Sotheby’s Monaco sale is being held at Le Sporting Monte-Carlo this weekend, 14th May.
