Rod Stewart’s Lamborghini Miura heads to auction

Sir Rod Stewart’s Lamborghini Miura will be one of the star attractions at Coys’ Classic and Sport Car Show on the 29th October at Alexandra Palace.

The music legend’s 1971 P400S was bought new and delivered to him in London. The car itself left the factory in right-hand-drive, with air-conditioning and seat belts. The famous Miura’s history file also includes a photograph of Dee Harrington, the star’s girlfriend at the time, standing in front of the car.

The car was sold by Rod Stewart and later passed into the hands of a vendor. The vendor installed a range of upgrades, bringing the car up to SV specification. New rear lights, suspension upgrades and front and rear clam shells were added. The original chassis, bulkhead and 370bhp engine all bear the original S numbers.

Having changed hands a few times, the car was bought and restored by Lamborghini specialist Colin Clarke Engineering. The Miura’s exterior was returned to its factory finish of Blue Notte. The interior is finished in black leather. The car’s suspension, braking and steering systems were upgraded to concour specification.

The car is in good condition, steeped in history and is expected to sell for £800,000-£900,000 at auction on the 29th October.
