Rolls-Royce Dawn receives the Black Badge treatment

Rolls-Royce has given the Dawn the Black Badge treatment, complete with black paint, bespoke finishes and more power!

Sitting alongside the Wraith and Ghost, this is the first drop-top that Rolls-Royce has added to its bespoke ‘Black Badge’ line up.

The Dawn Black Badge features both cosmetic and engineering enhancements, starting with the paint finish, which Rolls-Royce describes as, “the deepest, darkest and most intense black to ever grace a production car surface.” This is achieved by applying multiple layers of paint and lacquer for a deep black finish. The exterior trims are given a similar treatment, with the exhaust tips, radiator grill surround and even the Spirit of Ecstasy, finished in a shadowy black chrome.

The black colour scheme continues inside, with intricate threads of aircraft-grade aluminium bonded with carbonfibre applied to many of the trim panels. The opulent interior is further accentuated by the striking black leather/orange trim upholstery, which Rolls-Royce says, “evokes the sunset.”

Underneath the bonnet, the Black Badge Dawn liberates an extra 30bhp from the 6.6-litre, twin turbo V12, now producing 593 bhp, boosting torque by an extra 20nm and bringing the total to 840nm from 1,500rpm.

Prices are yet to be released, however cars are available to commission now and the Dawn Black Badge will be on show at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
