Sneak peak at Jaguar’s new 200mph F-Type SVR

Jaguar has released first images and details of the new F-Type SVR ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva motor show on the 1stMarch.

Developed by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations department, the new range-topping F-type will be the first Jaguar to bear the SVR badge.

Available as a coupe or convertible, the SVR will be the most powerful F-Type yet. The 567bhp supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine will deliver 700Nm of torque, 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 200mph.The eight-speed automatic gearbox will transmit power to all four wheels.

The SVR will be lighter, featuring carbon ceramic brakes, a titanium exhaust and wider forged aluminium wheels, allowing bigger tyres for extra grip. There’s stiffer suspension for better cornering, and improved aerodynamics, including a revised rear diffuser and a large front spoiler and rear wing, which Jaguar claim reduce lift by up to 80%.

Styling updates include a new steering wheel with aluminium shift paddles, quilted leather sports seats and contrasting dashboard stitching, as well as the SVR badges throughout.

A price tag of around £100,000 is expected when the SVR goes on sale this summer.
