Sneak peak at Faraday Future’s new electric SUV
Electric car maker, Faraday Future, has released further teaser images of its first production model. Designed to rival Tesla’s Model X, the new electric SUV will be fully revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on the 3rd January.
The images show a sleek, wrap-around light bar design at the front and rear, with a mock grille featuring the Faraday Future double F logo. The accompanying video clip is titled ‘Reinvent The Wheel’, fuelling speculation that the new SUV will use in-wheel motors.
Faraday’s previous publicity shots have suggested the development of multiple model lines, including a sports car, MPV and hatchback, however the SUV design has featured most frequently and is likely to be the company’s first production car. In any case, Faraday’s Variable Platform Architecture means that different models could be launched in quick succession, without the need to develop the next cars from scratch.
Little detail is known about the unnamed SUV, however Faraday has revealed that it will employ an LG Chem battery pack, which it claims will use the most energy-dense Lithium Ion batteries on the market.
