Tesla’s new P100D models

Tesla has announced it will extend its range to include a P100D Model S and Model X. The latest models will run on a new battery, delivering greater speed and range.

The range-topping 100kWh battery pack will be available for the saloon and the gullwing SUV.

Tesla claim the new Model S P100D will be the fastest accelerating production car on the market, with a 0-60mph time of just 2.5 seconds – 0.7 seconds faster than McLaren’s F1. The car has an increased range of between 315-380 miles on a single charge. The Model S P100D comes with Smart Air Suspension, four wheel drive and ‘Ludicrous Speed’ as standard.

The larger Model X P100D is now capable of 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds. The range for the SUV is estimated between 289-336 miles from a single charge. The Model X comes with four wheel drive and pricing starts at £117,200. Deliveries will begin in 2017.

Pricing for the range-topping Model S starts at £114,200 and deliveries are expected for December 2016.  Customers with a P90D on order or already delivered can upgrade to the 100Kwh battery at an additional cost.
