The Brand New Volvo XC90 has Arrived

Volvos brand new XC90 has arrived and is set to go on sale from next year. A limited edition of 1,927 cars will kick-off sales of the new XC90 in an online sale from September 3rd; the quantity of 1,927 celebrates the year Volvo was created.

The new 7-seater is proclaimed to be Volvos safest and most luxurious 4×4. The mix of the XC90’s deluxe interior, ground-breaking safety technology, as well as its engine efficiency and spacious cabin is sure to entice a whole new plethora of interest. Standard equipment across the range includes Sat-Nav, cruise control, rain sensors, LEDs, climate control and leather interior trim.

Its arrival marks the beginning of Volvo’s new era following the overhaul of its range. The XC90 is seen as a showcase for future Volvo design, technology and aestheticism. Hakan Samuelsson, Volvo President announced ‘we are not just launching a car, but re-launching our brand,’

The new XC90 will be offered with several powertrains, including the 394bhp hybrid – badged T8 ‘Twin Engine’ – uses a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine to power the front wheels, and a 79bhp electric motor powering the rear wheels.

Six engine modes allow the driver to choose how the car is powered. These range from pure electric to full hybrid power. All engines will be offered with a choice of three trim levels; Momentum, R Design and Inscription.

The XC90’s new safety design and technology features demonstrate the improvement in production with an automatic breaking system when turning into oncoming traffic, along with an impending accident detection device that tightens seatbelts to hold any passenger firmly into place. The new XC90 gets “the most comprehensive and technologically sophisticated standard safety package available in the automotive industry”.
