The Aston Martin V12 Vantage was first revealed in March 2022 and is the final car to feature the brand’s in-house-developed 5.2-litre V12 engine. The new model boasts 690bhp and will sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds. However, all 333 examples of the limited edition V12 Vantage sold ahead of its reveal.

The new-generation Range Rover Sport made its debut at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Headline features for the new Sport include a longer-range six-cylinder plug-in hybrid and a twin-turbocharged V8, alongside six-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol and diesel cars. A fully electric Range Rover Sport has also been confirmed.

The mooted electric successor the Lexus’s iconic LFA V10 supercar is made its first appearance outside of Japan at the Festival of Speed.

Lexus itself calls the Electrified Sport concept a “vision for a future all-electric high-performance sports car – seen by many as a potential successor to the legendary Lexus LFA”.

Lexus suggests the acceleration time to 100km/h is expected to be in the low two-second range and says the car will have a driving range of more than 700km.

McLaren Artura GT4

The Mercedes-AMG One hypercar is making its dynamic debut at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Essentially a Formula 1 car for the road, the Mercedes-AMG One is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged hybrid V6 engine and four electric motors. Total system output is 782kW of power.

Initially meant to launch in 2019, this has been held back due to the challenge of making a powertrain derived from F1 work on the road, and having it meet ever-tightening emissions standards.

Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance racer is another model to have made its in-person debut at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Cayman GT4 ePerformance is a follow-up to its Mission R concept car and packs a dual-electric motor setup producing 735kW of power in its most powerful mode. The battery pack and electric motor are based on those of the concept car, which itself borrowed from the Taycan. Under the skin, however, it’s built on the bones of the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport.
